Name:- Bhanga(Sanskrit), Bhaang(Hindi), Indian Hamp (English) , Latin:- Cannabis Indica

Synonyms:-  bhanga, bhangi, matulani, madini, matika, matuli, jaya

Properties:- Rasa- tikta
                     Virya- ushna
                      Guna- laghu, tikshana
                      Karma- dipana, pachna, mutral, madhkari, nindrajanak, kamodipak, and beneficial for amashya.. kafhashamak

Dose:- 2 to 4 ratii

ATIVISA - Aconitum heterophyllum ( Medicinal Plant )

  Name:- Aconitum heterophylum

Chemical composition:-
                                         Atisine,Atidine,heteratisine ,Diterpene alkaloids , heterophylline, heterophylline ,heterophyllidine heterophyllisine, hetidine, atidine & ,Atisenol, a new entatisene diterpenoid lactone from roots.     
F-dishydrçatisine, hetidine, hetisinone, heteratisine, hetisine, benzylleteratisine, beta —sitosterol, carotene and 3— isoatisine from rhizomes 


Distribution & Habitat:-  kumau in Himalaya

Properties:-   rasa- tikta, katu
                        Guna- laghu, ruksha
                         Vipaka- katu
                         Virya- Ushna
Karma - Dipana, Päcana, Grãhi, Tridosahara, otha hara, Viaghna, Krmihara, Aroghna, Jvara hara, Kasa hara


Toxic effects—
Over dosage (More than 5-6g) produces symptoms like dryness of mouth, tremors etc.
Pretreatment of A. palmatum root in cow’s milk and urine reduced the cardio-toxicity (Singh L.B. et al., 1985).

Srotogamitva:
 
Dosha : Tridoshaghna.
Dhatu : Majja (brain tonic), rakta. shukra. meda:

Part Used—

The tuberous root is medicinally used both alone and in combination. Yogaratnakara mentioned that Haritaki may be used as the substitute for Ativisã.
Dosage—
Root powder l-3g per day (divided doses)
Indications—

Atisãra, Jwara, Kãsa, Bãla röga. Visa röga, Ama dosa, Chardi, Krimi roga, Agnimãndya, Rakta pitta, Yakrd roga, Trsnã, Pinasa, Ara, Pittodara etc.

Kutaj


Botanical Name : Holarrhena Antidysenterica, Holarrhena pubescens
English Name : Connessi bark, Tellicherry bark
Hindi Name : Kutaj, Indrajava, Kuda
Sanskrit Name : Kutaj
Holarrhena Antidysenterica is a plant native to India.
This shrub is a member of Apocynaceae plat family.Synonyms: Holarrhena pubescens
This is a deciduous shrub or a small tree. The bark is rough and brownish in color. The leaves are opposite and sub sessile. The flowers are white and the seeds are light brown in color.

Usage:
The bark is used mainly for treatment of dysentery and diarrhea. The Bark of the herb is used as Ayurvedic herbal medicine.

Botanical Name : Datura Innoxia, Datura suaveolens
English Name : Thorn apple. Toloache
Hindi Name : Dhatura
Sanskrit Name : Dhatur
Datura Innoxia and other similar spices are found in India and other Tropical countries including Central America.
Datura is an herb of plant family Solanaceae. This is a small shrub. The branches are purplish, pubescent and spotted with white patches. The leaves are alternate, broadly ovate-acute entire or toothed. The Flowers are axillary, solitary, peduncle and small white violet with musk like fragrance.  The fruits are round and thorny.

Usage:
In minute quantity, the seeds and leaves are narcotic and antispasmodic.

Caution:
All parts of the plant contain alkaloids which are toxic and may cause death if taken in large quantities. Roots, Stem, leaves, flowers and fruits are used in Ayurveda as medicinal herb.

English Name : Wild leadwort
Hindi Name : Chitrak
Sanskrit Name : Chitrak
Plumbago zeylanica is a herb native to India and South East Asia and Also, in Hawaii, Virgin Island.
Plumbago zeylanica is a member of Plumbaginaceae plant family. This evergreen small shrub grows to a height of about 3 to 4 feet. The ovate leaves are thick and flashy. The flowers are either red alternatively, white in thick racemes.
Usage:
The roots in minute dosages are stimulant for liver.
Caution: Chitrak in large dosage may be toxic; it may lead to abortion in pregnant women. The roots are used as medicinal herb.
